You didn't stump them, you just set off their apostate alarms. They weren't going to waste their time on you

Divorced Atheist ex-JW Dad
by braincleaned ini just wanted to chime in as a loving atheist father, divorced to a jw, and what plays as far as educating our children.. we have shared custody but the kids are mainly with their mom - 11 and 14 respectively.. the problem i face is keeping a balance for my children.
i have turned atheist during our marriage, so my ex didn't have the spiritual support she signed up for anymore.
i can understand it is not easy.

With the advent of the Information Age, the odds of your children turning out to be Atheists is high regardless of what you do. You can teach your children to think, without a frontal attack on their faith. Then let the internet take care of the rest. Just make sure they don't get baptized too young... Or at all.
The odds are in your favour. Just remember: them becoming believing adults IS a bad situation.

WT simplifying dates? other thought on Dec 15 edition.
by prologos intrivial but interesting:.
1) page 23 : simplified memorial date : 4 numbers only: 14 / 4/ 20 14 -or- 4 / 14 / 20 14 -or- 20 14 / 4 / 14. it is only numerology, and if you switched between julian& gregorian calenders, the order would disappear , yet if we could have an eclipse too, like we had in the 60s in eastern north america, icing on the cake.. 2) the front cover, two huge stones piled in the back yard of the house, precariously perched.
perhaps an attempt to please god through service 6000 bc.

No point trying to find cryptic messages from the WT outside of the revelation book... Dubs are too stupid, and there's no elite secret group who knows how to read them. Go ahead, bring this up to a JW friend and watch their reaction.

Donating to charities discouraged by the WT
by lambsbottom inhi everyone,.
im trying to find articles from the wt and awake that show when the writers are discouraging charity work or giving.
from any books would be good also..

Regardless of what the WT says in writing, the general attitude of JWs towards worldly charities is VERY negative... Not sure why. I mean most JWs feel the same.
Part of helping my wife to wake up was to help her see what charities can do for people. This year she gave $500 to local charities, I'm very proud.

Marriage In The New World
by Cold Steel inokay, here's the issue.
some people, even some jws, believe that in the new world they will be reunited with their spouses.
jesus, however, said that in the resurrection there would be no marriage or giving in marriage.

Well either way, they won't be gods of their own planets...

Stands For True Worship. I am turning myself in......

SFPW is usually quick to jump in with his ignorant crap... At least he is polite enough to let you know that he saw your thread, but it puts him at unease.
Im really curious to see what he has to say. He more just stats opinions and hate, not much intelligent debate with this fellow.
Remember Recovery? Of course. At least he was able to have an in depth discussion. His arrogance was an issue, but at least he was better read than the average JW. This fool is just like the rest. 90% of posters here know more than ANY JW About their own religion... That's why they're here.

Fantastic.
Every follower of Abraham (Jew, Christian, Muslim... Same thing) should give this serious thought.

It's a convenient way to curb the climbing number of partakers at the memorial! Clever...

Thank you, Atlantis for posting secret WT info on here in the past. It has been a huge help to be able to have access to what only the most brainwashed Dubs have.

Let's make a list of the families ruined by the Watchtower
by Faithful Witness inthe jehovah's witnesses came to our door, claiming to hold the secrets of family happiness.
they told me they had the "one true religion," and had come to save my life.
i was a bible student for quite awhile, along with my husband.

My family and family-in-law are all JWs. My mother is currently DFed for the second time, and shuns me even though I have told her not to because "it's jehovahs arrangement."
One day I too will likely be DF'd, and shunned by all. My only hope is that my wife sees the light before then and comes with me. It's a terrible situation that only a cult would put someone into. My long-term goal is to have a happy, religion free family So that future generations of my family are free to love and accept each other without human-imposed conditions.
